The Greater Miami Bureau of Time Tourism

The Bureau is an experimental history department dedicated to serving Miami and empowering communities through access to and public interpretations of the city’s history.

We strive to awaken Miami to its memories and to help grant the city a sense of self-awareness and place in space/time. We hope that, with the treatment of this historically-chronic regional amnesia, Miami will continue to grow onto the global stage, but as an example of what a young, equitable, loving, and forward-thinking city can look like. Miami and its communities have much power in shaping the future - they only need to look to the past to understand this.

We, as Miamians, are all neighbors to one another. we are also more than neighbors, we are siblings in knowing what it is to live in a place like this. The sun, the wind, the rock, the rains, the flowering trees and the drought. We are siblings of place. Perhaps we need a moment to understand each other - a moment to hear each other’s stories.

It is with these sentiments the Greater Miami Bureau of Time Tourism operates.

We believe access to history empowers community.
